Chocolate Lump Of Coal
Project

By Bob Sherman

Like many of my peers, as a young child I feared one thing above all else - the dreaded lump of coal in my Christmas stocking for being bad. Four decades later this has become more of a holiday cliche than a serious worry of most children. Possibly because most kids have no idea what a lump of coal is, and most folks would have no idea where to obtain one.

This project shows how to make a chocolate version of the traditional lump of coal with minimal materials. It looks best when made with dark chocolate, but since it is wrapped with black foil, milk chocolate may also be used. I used milk chocolate for this project simply because that is what I had melted at the time.
